The U.S. said that NATO and U.S. allies must pursue a joint allied strategy in resolving the situation in Macedonia. This was a follow-up to President George W. Bushs statement that the U.S. will work with NATO to develop a strategy that will help Macedonia protect herself." A U.S. State Department report said that the U.S. is currently providing Macedonia with $46.5 million in aid, $13.5 million of that figure military assistance funds.
