: Macedonia put its military on alert along the Macedonia-Kosovo border. The cause: the increasing number of violent clashes between Albanian separatist extremists and Serbia. As past reports have noted, there have already been several suspected violent spill-over across the border. Macedonia now says that Macedonian troops have clashed with unidentified armed men near the Macedonian village of Tanusevci. One Macedonian report says the unidentified wore black camouflage. A wire service report said Macedonian military patrols had come under sporadic fire (presumably light weapons fire) near the border on February 16.
