Here's mud in your eye, America. Serbia's Slobodan Milosevic announced today that he hopes Taiwan will soon be under Chinese control.

December 21; Turkey said it would proceed with construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant because it is desperately short of energy (due in part to reduced supplies of natural gas from Russia). Neighboring countries and environmental groups have opposed the construction because the building site is within an earthquake zone.--Stephen V Cole
