The government announced that, two months ago, it captured Nourredine Boudiafi, the head of the terrorist group GIA (Islamic Armed Group). The event was kept secret so that Boudiafi's followers could be hunted down.  The GIA made peace with the government in 1998, but some members fought on, and many broke away to found the GSPC. But now the last of the GIA terrorists appear to be gone.
