 Harkat Al-Islah (Movement for Reform), the largest Islamic party in Algeria, is taking a major public relations hit as details of adultery among the senior leadership emerges. The Islamic parties have been trying to get laws passed outlawing booze and legalizing polygamy, without success. Neither violence nor conventional politics has been able to get Algerians to return to Islamic conservatism.
