  It was announced today that the former head of the Moslem extremist group GIA was killed by members of the still rebellious LIDD (Islamic League of Daawa and Jihad.) The LIDD publicly admitted to the July 16 assassination. The LIDD have technically declared a ceasefile in 1997, but have still been active. The LIDD was one of the groups to accept amnesty (on January 13.)
