Attacks on Taliban camps in the southwest over the last two days have killed nearly 30 Taliban, including a known Taliban leader from the area. American air power works with American and Afghan troops in these operations. There are several thousand Afghan troops working with over five thousand American combat troops in these operations. There are also several thousand local militia who, while not as well trained as the Afghan soldiers, come in handy to man road blocks and set up cordons.
