In the south, attacks continue on aid workers, including local Afghans working for demining operations. While most Afghans support the work of the aid groups, it's too easy for a few men with guns to run around in trucks taking shots at the aid workers. The aid groups hire armed guards, but these cannot prevent the hit and run attacks, only fire back and occasionally kill, wound or capture an attacker (who usually turns out to be on the payroll of some Taliban warlord.)
