Foreign aid groups, particularly the UN, have declared about a third of the country, mostly in the south,  too dangerous for them to operate in.

Over the last few days, several bombs have been found and disabled around Kabul. One, weighing 44 pounds, was found in front of the house of the defense minister. This would make the third attempt on the ministers life in the last year. The population of Kabul is generally hostile to terrorist attacks and have been providing a lot of information on the groups trying to carry out these attacks.

Tribal warfare, sparked by a land dispute, has left six dead in the southeast.
