Germany and Netherlands will take control of the Afghan peacekeeping force (ISAF) in February. They will take over from Turkey and run ISAF for six months. They will also send more of their own troops. Unfortunately, despite pleas from the Afghan government, UN and NATO nations refuse to supply more troops or provide security outside the capital of Kabul.

Australia is pulling it's 150 commandos out of Afghanistan, so they can prepare for operations in Iraq. New Zealand's 40 commandos will stay in Afghanistan for the moment.  Several hundred non-American commandos are being used to hunt, and collect information on, Taliban and al Qaeda leaders.
