 US troops continue to pursue some 20 senior Taliban and al Qaeda leaders, as well as supplies of weapons, ammunition and other material hidden in caves or buried in the hills. Osama bin Laden is thought to be dead, but Taliban leader Mullah Omar is believed to be alive and hidden by pro-Taliban tribes in central Afghanistan.
