Someone fired two 107mm rockets at a US base in the southeast. Neither rocket hit the target. For two decades, Afghans have used 107mm rockets to attack towns and cities. The rockets are not accurate enough for anything else. Most US bases tend to be just a few buildings, too small a target for 107mm rockets.
Fighting continues in Khost between rebellious Zardan tribesmen and troops loyal to the provincial governor.
Outside Bagram air base (near Kabul) an Afghan fired at a guard tower with a "muzzle loading weapon." The man was shot, wounded and captured by US troops while he was trying to reload. There was another man with him that got away.
