Fighting around Taliban held Taloqan in the north is heavy. Meanwhile, in the west, Iran has closed it's consulate in Herat. The consulate was attacked by locals accusing Iran of involvement of a bombing attack against Molavi Moussa Karimpour, an exiled Iranian Sunni religious leader. Karinpour left Iran when the government demolished his Mosque to clear land for a park.
