  The Northern Alliance executed six men for the murder of a Northern Alliance commander. The six men had a personal grudge with the dead man. Meanwhile, the UN is considering more sanctions against the Taliban for drug dealing and support of terrorism. The new sanctions include an arms embargo, freezing Osama Bin Laden's bank accounts, closing of Taliban offices overseas, banning the importation of chemicals used to refine drugs, travel restrictions on Taliban officials and stiffer air transport sanctions. 

December , 2000;  A Northern Alliance commander, Abdullah Jan Wahidi, was shot to death while leaving his car in the Panjshir valley. The identity of the gunmen was not known.
