Former Marine Corps Commandant Kurlak fired a parting shot at the Army, insisting that Army efforts to become lighter, more agile, and more deployable were giving up the Army's greatest strength (heavy armor) to replicate what the Marine Corps already does. Army critics responded that the Marines have their own heavy units and that more deployable Army units are needed to win wars quickly.--Stephen V Cole
