China has launched the first of it's new 094 class ballistic missile submarines. Each boat can carry sixteen missiles. China's latest submarine launched missiles have a range of 8,000 kilometers and deploy three to six warheads. China has announced it's intention to build six 094 class boats and have them in service by 2005. These subs could sit off the Pacific coast of North America and hit targets anywhere in the United States.
