The U.S. Air Force is spending $123 million to build a system (RAIDRS or Rapid Attack Identification Reporting System) for detecting interference with U.S. communications satellites (military and commercial), and then locate where on the planet the interference is coming from. The air force can currently detect and track interference with satellites, but the process is clumsy, costly and time consuming. But a system put together, using existing technology, for detecting and tracking interference, is quite possible. And thats what RAIDRS is.
