The US will not provide Russia with additional money to help it keep the ISS (International Space Station) operational. This is because America believes that Russia can afford the cost of additional launches of supply and crew capsules for the ISS. Additional funding from the US is also held up by an American law that penalizes Russia for helping Iran build nuclear weapons. Negotiations on both of these issues continues.
