NASA is trying to find a way to cover a $4 billion shortfall in the $60 billion International Space Station program. The cost overrun has been caused by (Russian-induced) delays in the program (and the furious spending of money trying to keep the delays from getting worse). Boeing had been scheduled to reduce its space station program staff, but this will happen years late due to the delays. The US has promised that its international partnerships (such as the Japanese Experiment Module or the European Columbus Laboratory) will not be affected. In all probability, one of the US components will be canceled (with at least a hope of being added to the program later).--Stephen V Cole
