Japan's first H-IIA satellite launcher will lift off on schedule next February, but without any paying freight. The European Space Agency withdrew its Artemis satellite over concerns that the H-IIA's first stage fuel pumps will fail. The launch will be considered a "technology verification flight" designed to show customers that the booster is reliable.--Stephen V Cole
