April 22, 2006:
Albania is the latest recipient of Cold War surplus military equipment. Germany is giving Albania a dozen BO105 German air force helicopters. Albania is paying to have the helicopters modernized, bringing them up to the standards of the current civilian model of the BO105. This will cost about a million dollars per helicopter. The BO105s will be used for search and rescue, and other humanitarian missions, rather than for military work.
