The Administration has decided to delay the selection of a Joint Strike Fighter contractor from March 2001 into June of that year, giving the next Administration time to get senior officials into place before facing what could be their largest decision. Both contractors still hope to see the selection made this year, but that is unlikely unless one contractor has serious problems with its design. --Stephen V Cole
