Over 2,000 troops in the Russian armed forces were killed in 2002, the result of crimes or criminal activity. The victims were in the Defense Ministry, Border, Interior and Emergency Situations Ministry. Eight officers were part of this toll, although the Chief Military Prosecutor reassured the press that "not all of them were killed by their subordinates". That's comforting to know. - Adam Geibel
