Archives

Contractors bidding on the Navy's new Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) program are worried. Looming cuts in the F-18 and F-35 programs indicate that the Navy has projected more than it can buy, and the MMA could fall victim to a future round of budget cuts. Others are not concerned; the Orions are wearing out and will have to be replaced by some large long-range airframe.--Stephen V Cole
