The French Navy has received the first of four Falcon-50M maritime surveillance aircraft. The Falcon-50M is equipped with a Thomson Detexis Ocean Master 100(V) radar capable of spotting a life raft at 30km (18 miles). The planes also carry infrared detectors, inertial navigation systems, and Global Positioning Systems.--Stephen V Cole
