NATO is building a mobile Air Command & Control System. Transportable on aircraft, the system will enable a NATO staff to direct a large scale air operation from anywhere in the world. The system consists of eleven standard 20 foot long portable shelters. These will house 30 computer workstations, larger displays, all sorts of communications equipment and spare parts.
