Each year, about 850 Army officers attend the resident Command & General Staff College course at Fort Leavenworth, and each year about 500 officers who wanted to attend are left on the waiting list. (Some never get to go, and without C&GS, battalion command and a full career are all but impossible.) Because the waiting list has now exceeded 800, the Army has agreed to add another 208 officers to this year's class, and will also run larger classes next year. Officers who want a chance at the extra slots should contact their commanders immediately.--Stephen V Cole
