The U.S. Army has found a new way to defeat camouflage, and do it in 3-D. Army tests using LADAR (Laser Radar), found that, using more powerful computer software, the LADAR will build a 3-D picture of what it sees, which is so detailed that it will reveal vehicles hidden under camouflage. This kind of 3-D image building is also being used to help troops prepare for combat missions. They can move through these 3-D images of their battle area, in what looks like a video game. But the purpose of the rehearsal simulator is to do a realistic run-through of the operations. The first UAV to get the new LADAR will be the DP-5X Helicopter UAV.
