Intelligence: Recruiting Refugees to Spy

Archives

May 5,2008: In Germany, a Sudanese immigrant (since 1993) admitted in court that he served as a spy for the Sudan embassy, from August 2006 until his arrest in October 2007. The accused often pretended to be a photo-journalist. It's common for dictatorships to hire, or coerce, some exiles to spy on the others.
