India has announced that it will soon have a nuclear deterrent against China. Next year it will put into service it's IRBM (Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile), the Agni II. It has a range of 2,100 kilometers and carries a 1,500 pound warhead. Thus India could nuke some vital Chinese military and industrial installations, but not the major cities on the coast. The Agni III will have a range of 3,500 kilometers and be capable of reaching most of China's population centers.
