The US Army says tests of its Prophet electronic warfare and signal intelligence system were positive and it is ready to move into production of the first 81 units. These can be mounted in Humvees or on Shadow tactical recon drones to listen in on enemy radio transmitters and locate them for attack by other units. The Army is buying 44 Shadow-200 recon drones for its brigades, and wants to buy another 70 or so of the air vehicles to carry the Prophet system. An upgraded Prophet-II system would add the capability for electronic attack and jamming.--Stephen V Cole
