The British Ministry of Defense is issuing contracts for a three-year study of new kinds of radar able to detect stealth aircraft. This will include ultra-wideband, VHF/UHF, and over-the-horizon forward-scatter technology. The studies are to try to detect many kinds of targets, including aircraft, cruise missiles, sea-skimming missiles, helicopters, ground targets, small boats, submarine periscopes, etc. --Stephen V Cole
