The British have selected Raytheon to provide a new Successor Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system for 40 different types of aircraft and naval vessels. The program is worth about $150 million. The new system is compatible with NATO standards and includes secondary systems to make combat aircraft show up (when they want to) on civilian air traffic control radars.--Stephen V Cole
