Northrop Grumman has received a $25 million contract to develop the next generation of target drones, the BQM-74F. This will have greater speed, maneuverability, range, and endurance compared to the current BQM-74E. The Navy uses these drones to simulate enemy cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles. The first flight test of the F-model is scheduled for 2004.--Stephen V Cole
