Artillery: February 23, 2000

Archives

Finland has begun a series of tests on four self-propelled artillery systems. It wants to determine if they can function reliably in snow 2 meter deep and in temperatures of 40 degrees below zero. At this temperature, the Fahrenheit and Celsius temperatures are the same. Undergoing the tests are the French GCT, the Slovak Zuzana 8x8, the German PzH2000, and the British AS90 Braveheart. --Stephen V Cole
