A U.S. RQ-4A Global Hawk UAV arrived in Germany in early October, was outfitted with German sensors and began making test flights. The 12 ton RQ-4A costs about $35 million each and the Germans are investigating the possibility of creating an electronic reconnaissance version of the RQ-4A. This model would be called the "Euro Hawk." The German sensors detect land and sea based radar transmitters that the RQ-4A is flying over.
