The Air Force continues to push the deployment of the X-45A Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle forward, from an original date beyond 2010 to the current 2008 to perhaps as soon as 2006. The first ten of these UCAVs will be assigned to defense suppression, but the Air Force now expects them to do more than just drop bombs. Some will be fitted with powerful radio-frequency jammers in their bomb bays to attack enemy air defenses with electronic beams instead of bombs.--Stephen V Cole
