The Air Force says that the F-22 program has been cut as much as it can be, and that it will give up other things (almost anything) to keep the F-22 program at its current level. The Air Force insists that alternatives to the F-22 aren't really much cheaper, and that only the F-22 can quickly win control over any battlefield without heavy US casualties. --Stephen V Cole
