An extremely good regimental history. The author gives a very credible account of the history of the 66th Ohio, which included service in the Valley, with the Army of the Potomac in the Antietam, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg Campaigns, and then in the west from Lookout Mountain to the March to the Sea. But he goes further. The book also deals with the regiment’s roots, in Champaign County, Ohio, with life on the home front, and with the post war experience of the regiment and its community. Worthwhile reading.
