An effective operational and tactical account of the sweep out of the Normandy bridgehead and across France in the summer and early autumn of 1944,
After D-Day, is marred by a number of silly errors (e.g., Harry S Truman was not vice-president in 1944, and the North African Campaign was not "over two years" before Cobra, but barely 22 months). Despite these, there are some good battle pieces, and an occasional flash of insight which make it worthwhile reading for anyone interested in the campaign in Northwestern Europe.
